PAUL Wotton has admitted Levi Amantchi’s arrival at Aggborough ended a four-year pursuit of the striker.
Former Walsall man Amantchi joined the club on a season-long loan from Gateshead on Friday and bagged a goal in the 2-0 win at Halesowen 24 hours later.
Reflecting on the player’s introduction and discussing his presence as a real handful in the game, the gaffer said: “That’s what Levi is.
“I’ve tried signing Levi the last four years, and he’s had a stop-start career over the last couple of years, but there’s a player in there – I know there is.
“I think I can get it out of him and I’m really happy to have him.
“He’s an honest lad. We need different options in the team, we need all sorts, we need different things.
“If we’re one-nil down and need changes, we need every tool in the box.
“I thought he was a handful today and I’m glad he scored his goal.”
Harriers also signed winger Ethan Moore last week, though fans only caught a glimpse of the youngster in the warm-up as he continues to boost his summer fitness.
“Ethan’s been training on his own,” added Wotton.
“He’s someone we’ve known about for a fair while. He brings us pace, power and he’s very direct.
“He’s a great age, but he’s building up his fitness. So we might see him on Saturday, but maybe not.”
