Ryan began his career with Preston after coming through their youth ranks, but left to join Sheffield Wednesday almost three years ago.

He’s had loan spells with Stalybridge and Tamworth at this level and, having left Wednesday in the summer of 2016, came to Aggborough as a free agent last season, earning himself a deal until the end of the campaign after impressing initially on a non-contract basis, but then penning longer-term deal after a string of impressive displays in the middle of the park.

Made his England C debut in May 2017.
