ASHLEY Hemmings scored his fifth goal of the season to help Harriers to a second 1-0 win in the space of a few days.

Hemmings headed in the winner to earn a 1-0 win at Banbury United as the Reds posted the ideal response to their recent blip in form with back-to-back successes.

Harriers had started brightly in the opening moments, but needed Tom Palmer to be alert on 13 minutes as Babos drove through the visiting half and slipped in Stevens who struck towards the near post.

Keziah Martin almost gave Harriers an outrageous lead on 19 minutes. Banbury had got a good headed clearance in at a corner, but the ball fell perfectly to the midfielder who lashed at it with a first-time volley that crashed off the bar and, eventually, away to safety - and much to the relief of the hosts.

Two after the half-hour the breakthrough was made as Harriers, alert from a throw-in, quickly moved the ball to Rogers who lifted a great cross into the six-yard area. Hemmings met it with a superb leap and sent a downward header into the net.

Three minutes after the restart, Freemantle went close to netting as he nodded a cross back in the opposite direction and towards the bottom corner, only for a home head to intervene and clear.

Half chances then came the way of Hemmings and Starbuck before, on 71 minutes, Rogers crashed an effort into the side netting from close range.

Banbury did build spells of pressure and had chances as Acquaye shot at Palmer at the near-post and Brown nodded a header over with a more clear-cut opening.

The best home chance of the entire afternoon came in the fourth minute of added time as Palmer stood strong to block a Spasov effort and keep the ball from the net, confirming the win in the process.
