HARRIERS hit three unanswered second half goals to record a comfortable 3-0 victory over Gainsborough Trinity at Aggborough.
Joe Ironside slammed the team in front just after the break before first Harriers goals for Fraser Horsfall and Dec Weeks completed the job.
Harriers were on top from the off and, after a fairly controlled beginning, they started to pile on the chances as Ngwatala drove just wide and Jimmy O’Connor forced a good save from Henrich Ravas with a well-directed header.
On 25 minutes only the woodwork denied as Harriers as Ngwatala’s low finish bounced off the post – The Frenchman driving wide of the post from Austin’s cross just a minute later. Ironside saw a header cleared off the line on 41 minutes before Andre Brown’s first-time finish was diverted just off target.
The hosts wasted no time in storming ahead after the break; barely two minutes gone after the restart when Ironside, picking up on a ball, calmly held off his man before driving the ball on the angle, beyond the reach of Ravas.
Austin might have added a second a minute later with a rising effort that bounced off the bar, but the second goal came with the hour mark as Horsfall poked the ball over the line after Navas had spilled Ironside’s attempt.
Sub Sonupe then had a brace of chances as he looked to stretch the visitors, but the game was put to bed with another very well-taken goal; Weeks with his first in club colours as he combined with the winger before slotting the ball into the bottom corner.
It took until the 89th minute for Brandon Hall to have a save to make as Gainsborough searched for a consolation but his smart reflexes took care of efforts from Davie and King.

TYRONE WILLIAMS wants to make the most of an improved Harriers defence as the reds welcome Gainsborough Trinity at Aggborough on Saturday.
Thanks to two straight home wins against North Ferriby and Boston United, the team have added two more clean sheets to their tally for the season.
They had admittedly been harder to come by prior to that, so the hard-earn shut-outs clearly mean a lot to the whole group.
Williams, drafted back into the eleven for the 2-0 FA Trophy win over the Pilgrims last time out, couldn’t understate the importance of the added solidity.
“A clean sheet definitely takes us into Gainsborough with a little bit of confidence,” he commented to our YouTube channel.
“It gives us confidence and you can see that we are a group now; it gives us an edge.
“You could see that [James Pearson] suffered with a bit of sickness the other night but that’s what our group is about.
“Players can come in and out and we are able to deal with it.”
Williams may be downplaying his own return to the team in midweek.
The Academy graduate was originally set to be among the night’s substitutes before a late illness ruled James Pearson out of contention.
“It was horrible watching the games, but I am pleased to be back." Tyrone Williams
But the youngster put in an assured performance on the night.
He added: “The gaffer tells us all the time that substitutes have got to be ready!
“That’s got to be all the time, whether it’s before, during or after the game, so it wasn’t a shock.
“I just had to deal with it and I thought I did alright.”
Williams, if selected to face Trinity at Aggborough, will return to the team for a league game for the first time since his sending off against Darlington last month.
He admits to finding watching the action on the sidelines quite tough, commenting: “It was horrible watching the games, but I am pleased to be back.
“I am just looking to put the suspension in the past now that I’m back.
“You could say the timing of it has been unfortunate for me, but the lads have been very good whilst I’ve been away and on the other side of the defensive work!
“We are enjoying the busy schedule and enjoying going into each and every game.”
Harriers will hope to have Pearson back available, while Liam Truslove returned from illness himself in the midweek match and made the bench.
Yan Klukowski (groin) and Andre Wright (thigh) have trained this week after knocks kept them out of contention, while Joel Taylor may also push for some level of involvement after injury coupled with illness led to an extended absence for the former Stoke City man.
Kick-off at Aggborough Stadium on Saturday is at 3:00pm
