RYAN CROASDALE has been speaking about the England C experience that has seen he and fellow Harrier Joe Ironside enjoy a whirlwind week.

The midfield man and his team mate were part of Paul Fairclough’s side for the recent friendly matches against Panjab FA and Jersey.

Croasdale started both matches while Ironside was a substitute against Panjab at Solihull before also starting the fixture in Jersey on Tuesday evening.

The Three Lions went on to pick up a 2-1 victory first time out before losing on penalties to Jersey following a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes.

While footballers are keen to keep themselves fit over the summer in this day and age, Croasdale admitted this is yet another step to keep away any potential summer rust!

“It was a good experience,” he said

“I was pleased to get what was two ’90 minutes’ in effect over the space of a few days – it was positive stuff.

“As good an experience as it is to go away with the England team it’s also good to be keeping fit; It’s certainly better than running around pitches on your own I suppose!

“We had the two games and have been training every day so it has been intense.

“We were only together for a short space of time but it has all been professionally done with the team meetings, briefings and team bonding.

“There has been a lot to cram in but it has been enjoyable.”

Having Ironside in the camp was an added bonus for Croasdale, who was also joined in the England C squad by former Harrier Jordan Tunnicliffe who joined AFC Fylde recently.

“There were one or two familiar faces and I get on well with Joe and Tunny as well from last season,” he added.

“It has been a great experience and there was a good spirit amongst the squad.”
