Young Reds downed in Senior Cup

Narrow defeat on a spirited night at Evesham

Josh Webb

A young Harriers side was beaten 2-1 by Evesham United in the Worcestershire Senior Cup Final.

In an end to end game, the hosts took the lead early in the second half as Greg Peel slotted into the bottom corner.

Seven after the hour, Josh Webb levelled for Harriers as he poked home a rebound after Andre Brown saw a shot saved.

But within minutes the lead for Evesham was re-established courtesy of a thumping Matt Liddiard header that found the top corner.

Both teams had chances to add to the score in a frantic final few moments,  but United held on to seal the silverware.
