JOE IRONSIDE could continue his comeback from injury in the Emirates FA Cup at Deeping on Saturday with boss John Eustace happy to have the hit man back.
The 23 year-old has endured a stop-start beginning to the current season.
Niggling injuries saw him sit out the games at Brackley Town and Southport, though the striker did make a return from the bench at Tamworth in midweek.
His was a telling contribution, too; an 80th minute goal spurring the team on to being within one injury-time chance away from a point at The Lamb.
Despite the set-backs, it was a fourth of the season for Ironside, who will look for more minutes in the Emirates FA Cup as Harriers head to Deeping for Saturday’s early kick-off.
“You can see the difference he makes as he’s a top striker at this level.” John Eustace
“It’s been a really frustrating time for Joe with his injuries and he hasn’t been 100% fit,” reflected manager John Eustace.
“We left him out on Saturday to try and get him close to full fitness and to give him half an hour or so on Tuesday night was great.
“You can see the difference he makes as he’s a top striker at this level.
“I was really pleased to see him score another goal.”
The boss confirmed that Dan Bradley, also struggling with injury, is unlikely to feature at the weekend.
He joins Liam Truslove (knee) and Lee Vaughan (leg) as absentees for the Cup clash, though the latter duo are still some time away from a return.
