Eustace pleased with professional reds

Gaffer on North Ferriby win, Fraser Horsfall and more…

JOHN Eustace was pleased with the “professional” performance that handed Harriers three points courtesy of a 3-1 win over North Ferriby United.

A reds team, adopting a new approach with George Waring, Andre Brown and Joe Ironside combining for a more direct attack, battled hard against a North Ferriby side who played with plenty of freedom.

The win came thanks to an assured showing, with Waring and Ironside both on the score sheet alongside Lee Vaughan who also struck in the second half.

Reflecting on the game – that saw Harriers confirm their finishing position of fourth this season – Eustace was quietly satisfied.

“The players got on with it, it was a very professional performance,” he said.

“I was pleased with the way we went about things; George and Joe getting on the score sheet was great and Vaughany getting in on it was good.

“I was pleased with the way we went about things…” John Eustace

“George, whenever he has come on, has never let us down. He deserved a start today and I was pleased with him scoring the goal.

“Andre Brown was magnificent today and he really deserved a goal – his performance was fantastic.

“All round, it was very professional and I was pleased.”

There was concern at one stage on Saturday as Fraser Horsfall was forced to withdraw with injury after landing awkwardly.

Eustace, however, added: “I think it will be absolutely fine; [the substitution] was just to make sure he didn’t put any more pressure on it or do any more damage.

“Digsy came on and he was great, so there’s no problems.”
