RECENT arrival Ryan Johnson is looking forward to a successful season ahead after hearing good things about Harriers as he joins on loan from Stevenage.

The towering defender has joined us from the League 2 side on a deal that runs at least until January.

He is no stranger to this level of football having played plenty of games at National League and North levels – including a fruitful spell with Nuneaton in this division last time around.

Now at Aggborough, he’s looking ahead to not only the football he’ll be able to play with Harriers, but also the rough-and-tumble side of the game that will also come with more time at step two.

HJe reflected: “When I first joined Nuneaton we weren’t doing too well but, thankfully, we picked up quite a few good results and got ourselves out of trouble.

“I really enjoyed the league and learned a lot and, hopefully, I can bring that to Kidderminster.

“[Physicality] was one of the major things I took from it – not only playing with the ball, but without the ball it is very physical, and you come up against a lot of big strikers.

“I want to push on and do as well as a can and play as high as I can…” Ryan Johnson

“That did nothing but help me.

“Around [National League] level I have played quite a few games so I am looking forward to being at Kidderminster now.”

The Republic of Ireland U21 International is excited about getting the season started.

“I have heard a lot of good things about Kidderminster,” he went on to say.

“I like the way they play and I have spoken to the gaffer about what he’s looking for and what he’s looking for… it fits me well and I’m looking forward to playing some games and getting some good results.

“I like to be on the ball and to play out from the back and I believe that’s what Kidderminster like to do as well.

“I want to push on and do as well as a can and play as high as I can and hopefully the club can help me do that.”
