Harriers Ladies began their pre-season campaign with a 3-3 away draw against a young Crewe Alexandra development side on Sunday.
They were due to begin their pre-season fixtures with a match against Goldenhill Wanderers on Sunday 15th July, but this match was postponed.
Following a number of recent new signings, there were quite a few new faces amongst the squad to face Crewe.
The Alex took the lead after 20 mins but Harriers were soon back level with a good passing move. Amber Lawrence setting up new signing Amber Quick who calmly netted into the corner of the goal, leaving the scoreline at 1-1 at halftime.
The second half saw Harriers find their feet and they were starting to dominate the game, but against the run of play, Crewe managed to retake the lead.
Harriers drew level once again soon afterwards, this time from a corner taken by Lawrence finding newly appointed captain Anne Johnson, who volleyed into the top corner.
Molly Maguire put Harriers into the lead following another cross by Lawrence, heading in past the Crewe ‘keeper.
Harriers continued to press forwards but as the game reached its end, they got caught on the break and Crewe equalised.
Next up for Harriers Ladies is a home fixture against West Bromwich Albion on 29th July.
