Harriers Ladies continued their pre season campaign with a match against West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.
The Baggies, who play their football two divisions higher than Harriers, represented a good test ahead of the new season.
WBA started brightly and with the pressure on, Harriers gave away a penalty. However, goalkeeper Hannah Tromans guessed the right way, parrying the ball away before it was cleared.
Harriers then started to find their feet and a good passing move saw Amber Lawrence go close, but soon after, The Albion took the lead.
Harriers nearly equalised through Amie Savva but the Albion keeper saved to her right.
Things got worse for the ladies when leading scorer last season Alex Nicklin went off with an injury.
This put more pressure on the ladies and Albion scored a second from distance skidding off the wet surface, followed by a third with the ball being scrambled into the net, leaving the score at 3-0 at the break.
The second half was very even with both sides creating chances, but both were unable to put the ball into the back of the net.
Unfortunately, Amie Savva and Mollie Maguire both left the field during the second 45 due to injury.
Up next for Harriers Ladies is a trip to face Banbury United on 5th August.
