HARRIERS are pleased to help promote the upcoming effort, led by KHIST, to collate donations for the homeless and vulnerable.

Here’s what you need to know:

KHIST are, once again, arranging to receive donations to help vulnerable members of the community. We will be supporting local charities and other organisations to provide much needed help for homeless people (and their dogs), who need essential items to make their lives that bit more comfortable.

On Saturday 16th February, prior to the Harriers’ home match against York City, KHIST board members/volunteers will man Charity Collection Points (a) by the club shop and (b) on the car park outside the East/North Stand turnstiles, from 1.30 – 2.50pm. We are confident that, as in previous years, we can count on supporters to make the project a big success and are asking everyone to look out any suitable items they may wish to contribute to this very worthy cause.

We believe there are particular needs for the following items:

• Warm winter coats for both men and women
  Other clothing (particularly for men).
• Underwear and socks
• Blankets, pillows and bedding
• Towels and toiletries
• Food items
• Tents (1-3 persons) and sleeping bags
• Dog food, toys and treats

N.B. Please arrange for items to be suitably bagged.
Our selected local charities are:

Wyre Forest Night Stop, which provides overnight accommodation

Axis, which provides a gateway to get people back into housing.

St Basil’s, which arranges housing for young, homeless and temporarily homeless, people.

Kidderminster Women’s Refuge

Items not required by our selected recipients will be given to raise funds for the Far Forest Dog Rescue Charity.

The Trust would like to express our sincere thanks to Dave Griffin at Quads ‘N Castles in Kidderminster, for his kind offer of arranging deliveries to the chosen charities – this is something he does on a regular basis. Dave supports homeless people in the Wyre Forest district and also offers help and support to the Night Kitchen (formerly known as the Soup Kitchen). His cause on Facebook is called H.E.L.P.
