Harriers Ladies progressed through to the Semi Final of the League Cup with a comprehensive victory against Coventry City Women.

On another blustery day at COSE, Harriers flew out of the blocks and took the lead within two minutes of the kick off – a corner was headed into the corner of the net from debutante Bobbie Baker.

The second followed minutes later when Katie Priest fired home to score her first goal for the club after signing for Harriers in recent weeks.

Although Harriers dominated possession for long periods, a spirited Coventry team defended well and kept the half time score line at 2-0.

Manager James Astle made a number of substitutions at the interval, helping Harriers start the second half in the same manner as the first – Priest scoring her second within a minute of kick off , and another followed very quickly through a good move which Amber Lawrence got on the end – beating a defender and putting it past the keeper.

Harriers scored their fifth from a cross from the right, which was firmly put into the net by Kirsty Roberts, before substitute Kady Donohue headed home Harriers sixth from a corner .

A seventh followed when Lawrence was put through on goal, picking her spot and beating the keeper confidently.

Sophie Richards wrapped up the scoring with Harriers eighth – a good run got her past a couple of defenders before blasting into the net.

Harriers now progress through to Semi Final against Kingfisher at COSE, full details will be confirmed in due course.
