The home side switched off from two throw ins – one in each half – and were punished in spectacular fashion as City rifled in two superb finishes courtesy of Griffiths and Burgess.
In between, Joe Ironside’s ninth goal of the season had levelled things up but, going behind for the second time on the day, Harriers were unable to muster a second response.

It was a fairly frantic opening to the game. After Burgess had stabbed wide for City, Nick Clayton-Phillips forced goalkeeper Bartlett into a low save after weaving run and shot with just six on the clock.
A minute later, McAlinden almost forced home at the near post but Bartlett again denied him, Hall in the Harriers goal able to save well from Burgess with a dozen played.
The opening goal came on the half-hour, Griffiths unchecked as he ran on to a throw-in and unleashed an unstoppable drive that flew into Hall’s top corner, Ironside blocked out in his attempts to equalise five minutes later.
The second period was slower to start than the first, Kempster heading wide ten after the restart, before Griffiths, well found, shot wide of the near-post.
Williams, on as a sub, saw an effort deflected through to Bartlett on 69 minutes, just four minutes before the equaliser that saw Ironside expertly guide McAlinden’s free-kick into the back of the net.
The two sides them traded efforts with NCP bending one wide before Kempster was kept at bay by Hall, but the telling goal would come with just seven minutes left of normal time; again men were left free to run on to a throw as Burgess expertly chested down and volleyed beyond Hall.
Ironside’s deflected shot three minutes later was as close as Harriers came to a second equaliser – even four minutes of added time wasn’t enough to break the City defence once again.
