Ladies seal another victory…

With what turned out to be a depleted squad due to illness, injuries and unavailability, Harriers put in an adequate performance against local rivals Droitwich Spa Ladies.

Both sides had to deal with a strong wind blowing from end to end, but in the first half, Harriers had the wind in their favour and were on the attack from the off.

It did, however, take 39 minutes for Harriers to open scoring – skipper Anne Johnson’s free kick on the right side of the box curled and beat the keeper – into the top corner.

A second followed very quickly when, from outside the box, the ball fell to leading scorer Alex Nicklin who swivelled and smashed into the net.

Now in control of the game, Harriers added their third via another fiem strike, this time it was Kirsty Roberts getting her name on the score sheet just before half time.

Harriers quickly got their fourth following the restart – Bobbie Baker netting on the rebound after 49 minutes.

Despite further pressure, Droitwich defended strongly to see the scoreline remain at 4-0 as the full time whistle arrived.

The Ladies now turn their attentions to a League Cup Semi Final on Sunday 7th April at home to Kingfisher.
