NEW skipper Cliff Moyo is excited to open the new season on Saturday as Harriers host Leamington at Aggborough.
The Reds meet the Brakes to kick off the new National League North term, kick-off 3pm.
26-year-old Moyo will lead the team out as skipper, having been handed the honour by boss John Pemberton.
Speaking about that call to our YouTube channel ahead of the match, the former Guiseley and FC Halifax man admitted his delight.
He said: “It’s great – it might sound a bit cheesy but sometimes I have to double-check that I’m actually going to be Captain of Kidderminster!
“It’s a great club, and for the gaffer to have that trust in me is great.
“We’ve spoken and he doesn’t want me to change what I’m doing – I think that’s when you can get caught astray a little bit.
“You start acting differently and whatnot, but I’m kind of more the middleman between the players and the gaffer, and we’ll work together as a team.”
Leamington come to town keen to start their own season on the front foot on Saturday.
Moyo is keen to ensure a hard pre-season’s work is put to good use on day one, adding: “It has been exciting – everything that we’ve done in pre-season has been building up to that first game.
“We’re all looking forward to it.”
