RHYS Williams has told this weekend’s match programme that Harriers will be on their guard against an Emirates FA Cup upset against Stafford.

The Reds host Northern Premier League side Stafford Rangers at Aggborough on Saturday, 21st September.

Old foes from previous seasons, the two teams will meet for the first time in 11 years as they bid to make progress to the Third Qualifying Round.

Williams, while new to senior football, knows plenty about Cup action and the perils of being supposed favourites for a tie, having won the FA Youth Cup with Liverpool last term.

Many might expect the Reds edge past Rangers at Aggborough, but the 18-year-old knows to be far more guarded.

He tells the match programme for the game: “Last season, I think all of the games, up until the Final, were against teams that we were, more or less, expected to beat.

“I know what that pressure is like and hopefully the lads will know that as well, in terms of what will be coming and how we can progress.

“As I’ve said, we want to get the right result and go as far as we can.”

Read the full interview with Rhys by picking up a copy of the programme on Saturday afternoon.

Admission at Aggborough is £10 adults, £7 concessions and £1 U16s.
