Harriers bag waste management partnership

Harriers have secured a new waste management partnership with two local Councils

Boss Russ Penn and Commercial Manager Paul Biggerstaff were on hand to help launch the new partnership

Kidderminster Harriers have scored a home win for the club after securing a new waste contract with two nearby councils.

Bromsgrove District Council and Wyre Forest District Council will be working with Kidderminster Harriers as their official waste management partner for the 2020-21 season.

Bromsgrove District Council’s Business Waste Team are working with the Depot at Wyre Forest Council to enable more businesses in the area to access affordable, local and flexible waste services for the benefit of the community.

In exchange for providing all waste management solutions at Aggborough Stadium, both councils will receive a range of sponsorship and advertising to further promote the services they can offer to local businesses.

Paul Biggerstaff, Commercial Manager of Kidderminster Harriers, commented “We’re delighted to welcome Bromsgrove Council’s Business Waste Team and Wyre Forest District Council on board as our new Waste Management Partner. They offer a broad range of commercial waste services and I’m looking forward to working closely with them to make introductions to other businesses within our network.”

Cllr Margaret Sherrey, Environmental Services Portfolio Holder for Bromsgrove District Council, said: “This is a prime example of the sort of partnerships we aim to develop with local businesses and councils. We look forward to developing a great working relationship with Kidderminster Harriers which is mutually beneficial and also helps the club provide essential services to the local community. All parties have worked hard to build this partnership and we are proud to work with our neighbours at Wyre Forest to offer the business community in Kidderminster, affordable, safe and trusted waste collections.”

Cllr John Thomas, Operational Services Portfolio Holder for Wyre Forest District Council, said: “We can’t wait to deliver our first class waste management service, working in partnership with our neighbours at Bromsgrove Council. It is fantastic to support a local club with the prestige of Kidderminster Harriers, and is a great statement of intent from the team at the Depot. Our safe and trusted waste collections are available to all businesses. As with all our paid-for services, all income generated is reinvested into services to benefit all who live, work and visit Wyre Forest.”

This new contract is the latest in a string of partnerships confirmed following announcements last week regarding OLPRO and Clover HR increasing their involvement and Pirtek announced as a new sponsor this week. Momentum is building as the club continues to develop its commercial footprint and create a vibrant environment for businesses to engage.
