Friendly: Bilston 2-0 Harriers

Round-up of the key action from Bilston as Harriers begin pre-season…

HARRIERS began their pre-season programme with a 2-0 defeat to Bilston Town.

The game was far from one packed with chances, but the hosts had a first-half lead thanks to Josh Thomas’ deflected effort not long after the half-hour mark.

One blow in the first 45 for Harriers was the loss of Koby Arthur to injury after an overly excessive challenge.

In terms of Harriers chances, Sam Austin fired one effort off target for Harriers before the break with Ashley Hemmings seeing an attempt blocked just after the restart.

Jaiden White fired over not long after before Bilston almost netted a second from a corner, Hemmings then back up at the other end lofting a free-kick over the bar.

Second half stopper Tom Plamer saved well to keep out Alex Nickle’s shot with a little under 20 left, but couldn’t prevent a second goal four minutes later, a headed effort from close range.

Hemmings had the best Harriers chance of the day when he aimed for the top corner in the final minute, drawing a good save from the keeper.

Up next in pre-season, Harriers travel to Alvechurch on Tuesday for a 7:45pm kick-off

Harriers first half: Player A, Maxwell, Lowe, Player B, Player C, Austin, Prosser, Montrose, White, Arthur (Dutton), Morgan-Smith

Harriers second half: Palmer, Penny, Taylor, Dutton, Tolley, Stratford, Kellermann, White, Player B, Hemmings, Freemantle.
