Harriers finally welcome pre-season action to Aggborough on Saturday as they host National League side Wrexham.
With the start of the new competitive season at National League and North/South level now just a couple of weeks away (Harriers beginning in the FA Cup and Wrexham in the League at home to Boreham Wood), anticipation is high for both teams.
While results have been mixed for Russ Penn’s men, there’s been no shortage of action with goals aplenty.
The Dragons meanwhile have put together a mini unbeaten run during the programme, with two wins and a draw so far.
Keates, a former Harrier himself, told the Wrexham Leader: “Like Tuesday [at Telford], Kidderminster will be a realistic test for us and it is where you learn stuff about the players.
“We have had two wins, a draw and kept a clean sheet [so] we will go to Kidderminster and we want to keep momentum so we want to make sure it is a positive result.”
Harriers boss Russ Penn said: “This is a great next step for us – the lads have worked hard in training and in matches. We’ve been mixing up the workload, which you need to do, and this is another different test against a good side in Wrexham.
“It’s fair to say we’re looking forward to being back at Aggborough and it’s a game the lads are looking forward to.”
Harriers will continue assess their wounded ranks ahead of the game – Koby Arthur, Cliff Moyo, Jim Kellermann, Lewis Montrose are among those to have missed recent matches, as Penn hopes to have as many as possible available for the FA Cup clash.
Due to current restrictions, Saturday’s game is being played behind closed doors and no supporters can be admitted. However, to enable fans to enjoy the action, we have arranged for a live stream of the match from Aggborough.
With the club unable to count on the significant revenue they’d normally receive from home pre-season matches at this time in the campaign, we’re asking for supporters who are planning to watch the stream – and indeed those who aren’t – to consider making a small donation. This can be done securely and quickly using our online ticketing platform. Many thanks in advance for those who are able to do so.
Kick-off at Aggborough tomorrow is at 1:30pm.
As well as the live stream, you can follow match coverage on social media, with post-match interviews also on our YouTube channel.
