LEWIS Montrose knows Tuesday night’s game with York City has the potential to be one to remember.

Harriers look to build on a build on Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Hereford as they welcome the Minstermen to Worcestershire.

Steve Watson’s men were out of action at the weekend after bad weather put paid to their home clash with Bradford Park Avenue.

Montrose spent two seasons as a City player in League 2 and expects they’ll remain in and amongst the promotion challengers in National League North this season.

Add to that the fact that it’s competitive football under the lights at Aggborough on a Tuesday night, and there’s plenty for the Harriers skipper to be excited about.

He told our YouTube channel: “You look at the facilities and the conditions – the pitch looks fantastic – we all thrive of it and we’re all looking forward to it.

“We’re excited, I myself love playing in these games. They’re competitive games and [York] are going to be up there at the end of the season.

“We’re working towards being at the right end of the table and we’re looking forward to the competition.”

Harriers are eyeing a return to winning ways on Tuesday after a more inconsistent last month or so – at least compared to the start of the campaign.

Montrose insists that the spirit and togetherness at Aggborough is a key ingredient in ensuring calmer heads prevail when it comes to fortunes on the pitch.

“We’ve got good team spirit and it’s all about everyone,” he adds “From the staff on and off the field, all the way through to the players.

“It’s fantastic to see everyone pulling in the right direction and ultimately we win, lose and draw together – we always stick together.

“It’s a good place to be, it’s a good Club.

“There are going to be ups and downs; we might lose a couple and might win a couple, but whatever happens we’ve got to remain positive.”

Kick-off at Aggborough on Tuesday is at 7:45pm
