HARRIERS face their final away pre-season test on Wednesday night as they make the short trip to AFC Telford United.
The Reds will be represented by the first team players who didn’t feature in Tuesday’s defeat to Tamworth.
Phil Brown said of the test – and this midweek as a whole – will play a big part in readying his team for the big kick off at Darlington in a couple of weeks and the challenges beyond.
He said: “I’m always looking forward to these pre-season friendlies and I’ve got to thank Neil McDonald for putting together these games.
“We’re working towards 90 minutes of football and getting that kind of match fitness.
“I was delighted to see a number of lads get 90 minutes [at Tamworth], and it will probably be another 90 minutes for the rest of the squad on Wednesday night.
“If you’re getting two or three 90 minutes before the 10th of August, that’s what we’d call, in older terms, match fitness – in the modern day you’re taking about match minutes in sports science.
“We’ll be as near as damn it to prepared, with two or three games under our belt, by the time the Stoke City game comes around, and we’ll be somewhere near to what the team will look like against Darlington, without giving too many details away.”
To avoid queues and delays, Harriers fans are advised that it is preferable to purchase their tickets for the game prior to arriving at the stadium on Wednesday.
Admission Prices are Adults – £10.00, Concessions – £7.00 (Over 65s), 17-18 – £5.00, 12-16 – £3.00, Under 12s – £1.00
Kick off is at 7:45pm.
