PHIL Brown has confirmed midfielder Luke Summerfield will be out of action for a ‘sustained period’ after suffering a broken leg in Tuesday night’s game.

The Harriers manager said: “It’s worst-case scenario, really, Luke will be out for a sustained period and will be a big miss for us, he’s a great character in our changing room and a lovely man, one of the great guys I’ve worked with.

“The tackle came in a competitive game, it was one of those where one has gone in higher than the other, but I’ve got nothing to say about that, what’s more important is Luke’s rehabilitation and recovery.”

Brown was immediately committed to supporting the player, adding: “What he needs now is encouragement and support, and that’s what we’ve got to provide.

“It was nice to see two of the players who’d played in the game at the hospital with him last night and I know more have gone today; the camaraderie really is first class within the group.

“This really will bind us together under a common cause as we want to go out there now and do something for Luke.”

Everyone connected with Kidderminster Harriers wishes Luke nothing but the best during his recovery.
