HARRIERS kicked off pre-season with a 2-0 win at Droitwich on Tuesday night.

Max Brogan scored one and assisted the other as Paul Wotton’s men enjoyed a straightforward if taxing night’s work in the heat.

Harriers dominated the ball throughout and forced goalkeeper Dom Rogerson into a save as early as the ninth minute as he came out to block an effort from Player B.

Callum Dolan and Lewis Walker linked up nicely just after the half-hour, a combination of new Harriers signings almost forcing a breakthrough as the latter struck an effort wide.

Just before the break, Player A met a corner well and directed an effort towards goal, denied only by a strong block on the line.

Wotton fielded an almost entirely different eleven after the restart, but it was Droitwich who went close with their best chance of the night near the hour as a free kick was crashed wide of Josh Bishop’s upright.

Harriers then began to up the pressure. Zak Brown lifted over on 63 minutes before Brogan’s opener came two minutes later as he lifted a free kick over the wall and into the net.

Nine minutes later it was 2-0. A corner wasn’t dealt with fully, Brogan lifting it back into the area for Louis Francis to crash home a header.

With 12 to play, Ben Crompton might’ve added to the score as he turned sharply inside the area, but the goalkeeper was alive to the danger and smothered.

Pre-season continues for Harriers at Halesowen Town on Saturday.
