A look back to the defeat to Spennymoor

HARRIERS slipped to a second 3-1 defeat in the space of a few days after a frustrating set-back at the hands of Spennymoor Town.
The Reds gave themselves a mountain to climb by conceding with barely a minute played, a free kick delivered into the six yard area and headed down and in by Olly Dyson.
Veteran front man Glen Taylor turned and fired over with 16 minutes gone before Ashley Hemmings saw a shot blocked at the other end two minutes later.
It took until the 37th minute for Harriers to have a series sight of goal but when they did it came with venom, Zak Brown firing firmly but wide of the target, before a Moors free kick threatened to creep in and make it 2-0, the ball just evading the far post.
As in the first half, Spennymoor struck early in the second. After a foul in the area, Taylor firmly dispatched the ball beyond the dive of Christian Dibble.
Harriers then had a brace of efforts to immediately reduce the arrears, Ryley Reynolds lifting off target with 56 played before Hemmings forced Brad James to push the ball around the post.
The home side’s momentum began to fade a touch after that, but they did find themselves back in it at 2-1 on 80 minutes, Hemmings taking aim from distance with a fierce driveĀ that deflected beyond James.
Rather than a truly grandstand finish, though, Harriers gifted a third to Spennymoor with an uncharacteristically cheap goal; Taylor robbing the ball and easing into the net with great composure.
