HARRIERS were made to do with a point on the road at Alfreton Town after a stoppage-time equaliser denied them a third win in succession.

Adam Murray’s side had looked well on course for another victory, leading through Tobi Sho-Silva’s first-half goal and controlling much of the contest, but were pegged back deep into added time when Siya Ligendza’s glancing header found the bottom corner.

It means Harriers extend their unbeaten run to four matches, though this one will feel like two points dropped after creating enough chances to have been out of sight before the late twist.

Ryley Reynolds’ early pressing almost paid off on 12 minutes when he robbed possession and set up Dan Mooney, but the midfielder saw his strike bobble over the bar.

Luke Spokes then went close from a 20-yard free-kick on 21 minutes before Owen Evans bent a fine effort just wide after connecting perfectly with Spokes’ deep cross two minutes later.

Harriers continued to press as Joe Foulkes teed up Amari Morgan-Smith on 27 minutes, whose first-time shot cleared the bar, and Evans’ corner moments later found Sho-Silva, who nodded just over.

The pressure finally told in stoppage time at the end of the first half when Evans’ inswinging corner dropped through a crowd of bodies and across the line, with Sho-Silva claiming the decisive touch to put Harriers deservedly in front.

Emeka Obi’s header forced a save from the Alfreton goalkeeper shortly after the restart, while Christian Dibble produced a sharp stop to deny Ligendza as the hosts threatened for the first time.

Mooney almost capped a fine personal display with a superb solo effort, keeping the ball alive on the touchline before curling narrowly over when the ball to find the top corner with 20 left to play.

Obi again tested the keeper with a firm strike from around ten yards out as the visitors continued to knock persistently again on the visiting door – Harry Burgoyne again proving equal to it.

When Mooney released Reynolds late on, it looked like the clincher was coming, but the midfielder’s shot flew over the target – and Alfreton made the most of that let-off deep into stoppage time.

A loose ball from a free-kick fell kindly for substitute Harry Perritt, whose effort flew high, but just as Harriers and their fans were likely breathing a heavy sigh of relief, the next wave of play saw Ligendza’s header sneak into the far corner to level things up with virtually the last touch of the game.
