A look to the FA Cup clash with AFC Fylde at Aggborough…

RUSS Penn wants Harriers to deliver a performance to right the wrongs of last weekend when they venture back into the FA Cup against AFC Fylde on Saturday.

The Coasters visit Hoo Road as the two sides battle it out for a place in the First Round proper of the Emirates FA Cup where EFL sides await.

For Harriers it is the first opportunity to play since a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Farsley Celtic last time out.

Speaking ahead of the weekend, boss Penn acknowledged that while the result and loss of a possible three points was a big blow, it was the overall showing on the day that hurt most.

“The manner of the performance has upset a lot of people this week, me more than anybody else,” he explained.

“I expect a reaction on Saturday and nothing less – performances first and foremost.

“If we put a good performance in on Saturday, it still might not be enough, that’s the way the cookie crumbles.

“But you’ve got to put in a performance first and foremost and do the basics right, and that’s where we were so far behind last Saturday.

“It was a clear wake-up call to everybody.”

It is just a few weeks since Fylde, pushing hard at the top of the table and in good form, came to Aggborough in the league.

Since then, Andy Taylor has replaced James Rowe in the dugout following the resignation of the latter.

“A lot has changed in that time for both clubs,” said Penn of the time between the two fixtures.

“We have lost a number of players through injury, and they’ve got a new manager in charge for the interim.

“We know Tayls well there and we wish him well, but not for Saturday!

“We’ve had two tough tests already [in the Cup] but this will be the biggest test… it means the most to both clubs.

“The First Round proper is always the first goal and we’re both one game away from that.”

Harriers will assess Ethan Freemantle after he was pulled from the starting line-up against Farsley with injury.

Nat Knight-Percival, Joe Foulkes and Jack Tolley all remain out with ankle injuries.

Kick-off at Aggborough on Saturday is at 3:00pm.

Should the match finish level, a replay will be held at Fylde on Tuesday night.
